Classes are small and limited to 8 clients for mat classes, 4 clients for Equipment classes, and 8 people for Pilates Circuit classes. Advanced registration is necessary to guarantee a spot in class. Classes are all levels unless specifically noted. Classes are 50 minutes long.

Mat Class is a traditional PILATES class that also utilizes props such as the magic circle, foam rollers, arc barrels, bands and balls. The mat series of exercises was created by Joseph Pilates in order to gain muscle control, correct improper breathing habits, and strengthen the entire body. Besides focusing on spinal alignment, we will pay particular attention to both the shoulder and pelvic girdles in order to gain core strength, postural awareness and better overall movement habits. Maximum 8 clients.

Equipment classes will use the traditional Pilates equipment including the reformer, the cadillac system and the chair.

The Pilates Wunda Chair, invented as a result of Joseph Pilates’ observation of Chinese acrobatic maneuvers on a "box"; when turned over it doubles as an actual chair. Pilates enthusiasts are drawn to the Chair because of its versatility and challenge. Utilizing the chair in class, you will get the opportunity to challenge and improve one's individual strength, flexibility and balance. In addition, you will have the chance to experience the Pilates concepts on a piece of equipment that focuses on the lower unit of the body as well as stability of the whole body.

The Universal Reformer was designed by Joseph Pilates to support the back while strengthening the body. The exercises on the reformer are progressive and allow the muscles to work efficiently with the spring resistance.

The “Cadillac” system was developed by Joseph Pilates as his premier piece at the time. Cadillac work focuses on opening the chest, shoulders and back while strengthening the core and legs. The spring resistance helps create balance and tone with increased flexibility.

Pilates Circuit is a nontraditional equipment class that utilizes stations in a circuit format to create a heart pumping, core strengthening, total body workout. This class will definitely challenge you from start to finish! Each class will include exercises on all of the Pilates traditional equipment including the reformer, the cadillac, the chair, high barrel and more. This class is not recommended for beginner students. A strong understanding of the Pilates principles and fundamentals is essential, as well as previous experience on the equipment. Maximum 8 clients.

PRIVATE SESSIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT

One-on-one lessons utilizing the PILATES machines and mat work can be scheduled by appointment. Private sessions are the most efficient way to learn the Pilates method. Private sessions are specifically designed to meet your individual goals allowing you to feel and see results quickly. Private sessions are especially recommended for new students and for those with special physical needs or limitations. Semi-private lessons( with 2 or more people) are also available by appointment.

It is highly recommended that all new students take at least one private lesson (we call it the introductory session) whether you are brand new to PILATES or have previous experience because it will help us to evaluate your personal needs and abilities in order to direct you to the classes or individual sessions that will best support your individual fitness goals.
